Allegro Introduces New Rules for Sellers: Key Changes Explained
Allegro has introduced a series of changes affecting sellers on its marketplace. The updates, which began taking effect on August 18, cover international promotion, delivery fees, advertising, product restrictions and logistics.
Here are the most important changes.
Promotion expands to international markets
Sellers who use Featured or Flexible Featured listings on allegro.pl can now promote the same offers on Allegro’s international marketplaces, including allegro.cz, allegro.sk and allegro.hu.
Promotion was automatically enabled abroad for eligible listings from August 18. Sellers can manage these settings separately for each international market.
There is also a pricing change coming on September 17. Allegro will begin charging an additional sales commission for promoted offers on foreign marketplaces. Unlike allegro.pl, there will be no recurring fee for Featured or Flexible Featured promotion abroad.
Empty perfume bottles are banned
Allegro has added empty bottles previously used for perfumes, eau de toilette and cosmetics to its list of prohibited products.
The marketplace says the measure is intended to prevent counterfeiters from refilling branded bottles and selling fake products as genuine. Existing listings containing empty bottles were removed from August 18.
New limits on delivery prices
Maximum delivery prices have been introduced for certain domestic shipping methods to parcel lockers and pickup points.
The limits apply to delivery arranged through sellers’ own agreements with carriers and do not cover Allegro Smart!
Sellers should review their shipping price lists and adjust prices that exceed the new limits.
Allegro Ads gets net pricing
Allegro Ads now allows sellers to switch between net and gross amounts when viewing advertising data.
The setting covers bids, campaign budgets, advertising costs, ROAS and other campaign information. The default view depends on the company’s registered country, while the change itself does not affect existing campaigns.
Shipping to the UK is ending
Allegro is discontinuing delivery to the United Kingdom and sales through standard accounts registered to UK addresses.
The removal of UK delivery methods took place gradually between August 18 and August 22. Once removed from an offer, UK buyers can no longer select delivery to the country.
Cheaper shipping for heavier parcels
Allegro is bringing back Allegro Kurier Pocztex for parcels weighing more than 20 kg.
The change can significantly reduce shipping costs. Allegro’s example shows that a 27 kg Smart! shipment that previously generated more than PLN 90 in fees can now cost around PLN 12.91 net (PLN 15.88 gross), including the applicable weight surcharge.
One Fulfillment adds warehouse capacity
The One Fulfillment by Allegro network is expanding with an additional warehouse location.
The expansion is designed to increase the number of products and shipments Allegro can handle while improving order fulfillment and returns for participating sellers.
Changes to Allegro Ceny
Allegro has changed the way it calculates the financial result used to select offers for its Allegro Ceny program.
The calculation will now also account for international delivery costs incurred by Allegro. The change affects the selection algorithm but does not change the amount by which the seller’s price is reduced.
Company details move in Sales Center
Business information such as company name, address and tax ID can now be managed in a new Company Details section in Sales Center.
Updates made there will automatically be applied to other verified business accounts using the same tax ID, making it easier for sellers managing multiple accounts.
Infographics are now available
Sellers can now add approved product infographics from Allegro’s Product Catalog to their offers.
The graphics are supplied through brands and manufacturers, and their text must correspond to information already included in the listing.
More control over Allegro Charytatywni listings
Charitable organizations can now decide who is allowed to create offers supporting their fundraisers.
They can either allow anyone to add charitable listings or restrict this option to the organization running the fundraiser.
Overall, Allegro’s latest update introduces a mix of new seller tools, tighter marketplace controls and changes to shipping and promotion costs. Sellers operating internationally or shipping heavier products should pay particular attention to the new rules, especially the September 17 deadline for international promotion charges.
