Allegro teams up with OpenAI to boost ecommerce AI
Allegro has announced a partnership with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT. The Polish marketplace will use OpenAI’s technology and expertise to develop new AI-powered tools for its platform, with a focus on making shopping easier and helping sellers improve performance.
New AI tools for buyers and sellers
Allegro has already been investing in artificial intelligence across its marketplace. The company has introduced a virtual shopping assistant in its mobile app and is also working with Google on an intelligent shopping assistant for browsers. Earlier this month, Allegro presented a new AI assistant for sellers in Las Vegas. The tool is designed to answer questions, provide real-time insights, explain quality scores and highlight areas where sellers can improve. It is currently finishing its pilot phase and is expected to launch soon.
OpenAI partnership to speed up development
Through the collaboration with OpenAI, Allegro plans to design, test and launch new AI applications for ecommerce. The partnership will give Allegro access to OpenAI’s latest models and features, as well as support with implementation and optimization. CEO Marcin Kuśmierz said the company believes its approach can set a new standard for the next generation of commercial services in Europe. Allegro remains the ecommerce leader in Poland and is continuing to expand its position, while Amazon is also investing heavily in the Polish market.
