Amazon introduces Seller Wallet for European marketplace sellers
Amazon has rolled out a new financial management feature for sellers operating in Europe. The company has launched Amazon Seller Wallet across several European marketplaces, giving merchants more flexibility in managing earnings, transferring funds, and handling multiple currencies.
The tool is designed to simplify how sellers access and move their revenue from different Amazon stores, particularly for businesses selling internationally.
Available across major European marketplaces
Although Amazon introduced Seller Wallet in the United States in 2022, the feature has now been extended to Europe. It is currently available for sellers operating in seven marketplaces: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Ireland, and the Netherlands.
The expansion mainly targets cross-border merchants who sell products in more than one country or currency. By centralizing financial management within Amazon’s ecosystem, the company aims to make international selling easier and more transparent.
Centralized earnings management
Through Seller Wallet, merchants can manage funds from different regions within Seller Central. European revenue can be stored in a EUR wallet, while income from the US marketplace can be kept in a USD wallet.
This structure allows sellers to control when they convert funds between currencies and when they transfer money to their bank accounts. Amazon also displays the current exchange rate before each transaction, enabling sellers to decide the most favorable moment to move their funds.
Flexible payout options
The system also offers more control over payout scheduling. Sellers can initiate transfers manually or choose automated payouts on a weekly, twice-monthly, or monthly basis.
According to Amazon, international transfers are subject to a fee, but the rate may decrease as a seller’s business grows on the platform.
Simplifying cross-border payments
The wallet also enables sellers to pay suppliers directly from their balances. For example, a merchant can use US-dollar funds to pay suppliers in the United States while paying European partners in euros, without needing additional currency conversions.
This feature is particularly relevant for sellers operating global supply chains and managing payments in multiple currencies.
No entry barriers for sellers
Amazon says merchants can sign up for Seller Wallet without upfront costs or minimum requirements. The company positions the tool as part of its broader effort to support sellers expanding internationally.
By streamlining currency management and cross-border payments, Amazon aims to help sellers focus more on growing their businesses while reducing financial administration within the platform.
