Castorama Launches an Official Store on Amazon France
Two years after introducing its own marketplace, Castorama is expanding its ecommerce strategy by opening an official store on Amazon France. The move follows strong online growth in the first quarter of 2026 and is intended to bring Kingfisher’s in-house brands to a broader group of customers.
The partnership marks a significant change in the relationship between traditional DIY retailers and major online marketplaces. Castorama, which launched its marketplace in 2024, is now offering more than 1,000 products through Amazon.fr.
The decision comes as the company adapts to changing shopping habits. Castorama reported an 8.7% increase in online sales during the first quarter of 2026. According to Marie-Laure Cassé, the company’s director of digital, marketing and customer relations, the strategy is based on being present on the platforms where customers already choose to shop.
Kingfisher Brands Join Amazon’s Delivery Network
The Amazon store focuses mainly on products from Kingfisher’s own-brand portfolio, covering categories such as tools, home improvement equipment and interior furnishings.
Customers can now purchase products from brands including Erbauer and Magnusson, whose hand tools come with a lifetime guarantee. The range also includes items from MacAllister and GoodHome.
Fabien Pons, director of the Amazon.fr marketplace, said the collaboration gives customers easier access to brands recognised for their quality, while also allowing them to benefit from Amazon’s delivery infrastructure across France.
Castorama Strengthens Its Hybrid Retail Model
Digital sales now represent around 10% of Castorama’s total business. With 93 physical stores in France, the retailer is continuing to invest in technology while maintaining its traditional store network.
The Amazon partnership complements other digital initiatives introduced by the company, including the Hello Casto virtual assistant and a growing number of artificial intelligence-based services.
Castorama’s broader objective is to create a consistent shopping experience across online and offline channels. Customers can use ecommerce services for urgent purchases and fast delivery, while still relying on physical stores for larger and more carefully planned renovation projects.
