Cross-Border Connect Meetup at GPeC Romania

26 May 2026
Bucharest, Romania

Small room. Big cross-border questions.

During GPeC Summit Bucharest, the Cross-Border Commerce Association created a different kind of meeting space for Romanian e-commerce sellers.

Not a lecture. Not a panel. Not another “here are ten tips for going global” moment.

We gathered local merchants in a focused, merchant-only session built around one practical question: what really stands in the way when a Romanian online store starts selling across the region?

The conversation moved through nearby markets such as Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, and Romania, with a strong focus on the details that usually don’t fit neatly into a keynote: local trust, shipping expectations, product data, customer habits, and the small operational gaps that can slow expansion down.

It was direct, useful, and grounded in the day-to-day reality of e-commerce teams.

The market minds

The meetup brought together the Cross-Border Commerce Association team and invited experts:

Marcin Pondo CrossBorder24
Mark TorokCrossBorder24
Nikola Ilchev  – Balkan eCommerce Summit
Octavian DumitrescuDyerAI
Vladimir Armanko-Zachi TrustMate
Jerzy Krawczyk TrustMate

Together, they supported the discussion with hands-on experience from cross-border commerce, local market entry, trust, customer behaviour, data, and e-commerce growth across the region.
