TikTok Shop moves closer to launch in Poland and Benelux markets

TikTok is accelerating its ecommerce expansion in Europe, with strong signals that TikTok Shop is about to enter Poland, the Netherlands and Belgium.

The platform is not live yet in these markets, but multiple indicators suggest that preparations are already in an advanced stage.

Hiring points to upcoming rollout

Recent job listings reveal that TikTok is building a dedicated “strategic readiness team” to support further expansion across Europe.

The roles focus specifically on markets such as Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium and the Nordic region. The goal is to ensure that TikTok Shop can scale in a controlled and sustainable way while adapting to local ecommerce environments.

At the same time, the company is recruiting customer solutions managers who speak Polish or Dutch. These positions are designed to onboard and support key ecommerce merchants, acting as both technical advisors and integration specialists.

This kind of hiring activity typically appears shortly before a market launch, suggesting that TikTok Shop is entering its final preparation phase in these countries.

Seller infrastructure already in place

Beyond hiring, TikTok has already taken practical steps toward launching its marketplace.

References to seller account environments for Poland, the Netherlands and Belgium have been detected. While these pages are not yet accessible to users, their presence indicates that the backend infrastructure is largely ready.

For sellers, this usually means that activation can follow relatively quickly once the platform opens officially.

From major markets to regional expansion

TikTok Shop has been expanding rapidly since its launch in 2021. After starting in Asia and entering the United Kingdom, the platform gradually rolled out across Europe.

It is now active in several key markets including Spain, Ireland, Germany, France and Italy. With these countries covered, TikTok is shifting focus toward smaller but still strategically important regions.

Poland and the Benelux countries represent attractive opportunities due to their growing ecommerce sectors and strong social media usage.

Social commerce gains traction in Europe

The expansion also reflects changing consumer behavior across Europe.

While there were initial doubts about whether social commerce would gain traction outside Asia, adoption is now accelerating. In the United Kingdom, shoppers have become increasingly comfortable making higher-value purchases through TikTok.

Germany offers another strong example. Within a year of launch, around 15 percent of consumers have already used TikTok Shop, showing how quickly the model can scale once introduced.

What this means for sellers

For ecommerce businesses, the upcoming launch in Poland and the Benelux could open new growth channels.

Early entry often provides a competitive advantage, especially on platforms where visibility and algorithmic reach can favor first movers. Brands that prepare in advance may be better positioned to capture demand once TikTok Shop goes live.

Although no official launch date has been confirmed, all signs point to a rollout that is not far away.
